The storm boiled above the Everflame Spire, casting violet lightning across the obsidian cliffs. Elara pressed forward, her cloak whipping in the wind, the Emberstone clutched in her hand. The fires within it pulsed, guiding her path.
Behind her, the Shadowborn closed in, their spectral forms flickering. She reached the summit where the ruined altar stood, carved with ancient sigils. The Emberstone burned hot—she had one chance. She placed it on the altar and spoke the invocation.
Flames erupted, forming the Fire Sentinel. Its molten eyes regarded her before unleashing a torrent of purifying fire. The Shadowborn shrieked as they were consumed, their darkness ripped away.
As dawn broke, Elara knelt before the now-dim Emberstone. The magic was spent, the danger vanquished, but something had changed. The fire’s warmth remained in her palm, an ember of power now woven into her very soul.
